Royce has been animating professionally in New York and California for film and television productions for the past 12 years. After graduating with a BFA in Film and Animation from The Rhode Island School of Design in 1999, his professional career started as a stop-motion animator on MTV’s „Celebrity Deathmatch“. When the show ended in 2001 he moved in to computer animation and worked for Blue Sky Studios on a number of projects including lead animator roles on „Ice Age 2″ and „Horton Hears a Who“. In 2007 Royce made a change in his career and spent the next two years as a freelance animator in New York City, supervising and animating on projects with commercial houses like Psyop, Hornet inc, and Curious Pictures. In 2009 Royce returned to feature animation, accepting an animator position at Pixar Animation Studios. He is currently working on Pixar’s next feature film „Brave“. In addition to his animation work, Royce has taught and lectured on animation in institutions such as The School of Visual Arts (NY), California College of the Arts (CA), and online at Animation Mentor.
