Benoit Robert is a graduate of the Université du Québec à Montréal, where he obtained a master’s degree inVisual and Media Arts in 2016 and a bachelor’s degree in the same concentration in 2003. He is also a graduate of the NAD Center where he completed his training in 2007.
For the past thirteen years, Benoit Robert has developed his expertise in effects for film and video games, working for Groupe Image Buzz, Oblique FX, Digital Dimension, Moving Picture Company, Technicolor Academy and he’s now “FX Lead at Pixomondo.”
His career in teaching began in 2006 at Interdec College and LaSalle Corporate Training. He has been teaching at NAD-UQAC since 2012, at Tianjin University of Technology (China) since 2015 and at Technicolor Academy since 2016.
In addition to his career in production and teaching of special effects, since 2001, Benoit Robert pursued a research-creation in visual and media arts. He has participated in several solo and group exhibitions. He is represented by the Luz Gallery. In his approach to digital arts, he explores the spatio-temporal modulation of generative forms. He has received numerous awards and scholarships for his research work in the media arts, including a SSHRC Graduate Scholarship and a grant from the Laval Arts Support Foundation.
