While much of the industry is chasing diffusion models and flashy, undirectable AI demos, Griptape is taking a different approach—building smart, adaptable tools that integrate AI into real production pipelines without replacing artistic control.
His work revolves around developing AI-powered pipelines and frameworks that put artists and developers in charge, ensuring AI serves as an amplifier of creative intent rather than an automated replacement. The open-source, Python-based framework Griptape is building allows studios and individuals to plug AI into workflows securely and efficiently, unlocking its true potential beyond hype-driven experiments.
From developing simulation and dynamics tools in Softimage before they existed to automating workflows at Paramount/Nickelodeon, Jason has always tackled the “impossible.” His blend tapering innovation revolutionized facial animation, while his procedural awareness system has been a staple in EA titles for nearly two decades.
