Who is it for

This masterclass is designed for sound designers, composers, and audio professionals who are curious about the world of interactive audio. It’s ideal for individuals with experience in traditional audio production who want to:

  • Explore the fundamentals of game audio design.
  • Gain hands-on experience with Wwise and Unreal Engine.
  • Learn how to approach audio in nonlinear, interactive contexts.

Whether participants want to expand their skill set, explore new creative opportunities, or better understand how sound works in games, this masterclass offers an engaging and accessible entry point into the field.

Prerequisite

This masterclass is intended for participants with prior experience in audio production, sound design, or music composition. While no previous experience with Wwise or Unreal Engine is required, attendees should have:

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and basic audio editing techniques. – Understanding of fundamental audio concepts such as mixing, EQ, and signal flow.

Creative Skills

  • Experience creating and designing sounds or composing music.
  • A general understanding of how audio enhances storytelling and user experience.

This foundational knowledge ensures participants can engage fully with the content and quickly grasp the tools and techniques covered in the course.

Technical hardware

  • You will work on your PC/laptop. We will help to set Unreal if needed.

Where will this get you

By the end of the masterclass, participants will have:

  • Hands-on experience with Wwise and Unreal Engine, creating real-time, interactive audio systems.
  • A clear understanding of industry-standard tools and workflows for game audio production.
  • Technical proficiency in Wwise project setup, integration with Unreal, adaptive music, and dynamic audio behaviors.
  • Creative storytelling skills to enhance player immersion and engagement through sound.
  • Industry insights into bridging audio design with technical execution, providing a strong foundation for further specialization in game audio.
