Yes, but the deadline is rather informative so people could see how much time there is left before we must close the registration. However, we accept students even before the deadline itself as we receive registrations and see their bios. So we assume the SOONER you register, the better for you. No specific rules here.
Questions
Can I wait with the registration until the deadline?
Can I take only some modules, the entire course is too long for me?
Depends, you can take only individual modules. But priority have those that are interested in the entire course. If we have some room left, we are able to have other people join us for individual modules. It all depends on situation .. so yes, it is possible. Our goal is to accept students that need to get trained completely first.
We have right to change the course dates, if the professional situation should collide with the initial plan. All registered should be notified.
Do I have to know animation to take your courses?
This course is not for people with ZERO animation experience, but beginners will be considered. Students and graduates are encouraged to enroll! The thing is that the course is too short to learn from scratch, although we do not doubt there are people out there with extra talent to get up and walk. If you have some prior experience with animation, you will learn more and faster but the main criteria is your passion. If you are not certain that you really want to do animation for living, this may be a rather disappointing experience. But if you are into animation by all means, you will love it.
The registration deadline has passed. Can I still register for your course?
Yes, but you will be put on a waiting list. So there is still a chance that you may get in if other students cannot join us. Life happens, things change. Priority still have those that register the first. So try to send in your reel and registration before the deadline, please. Thank you.
If I have to cancel my registration after I was accepted, can still I do that?
Yes, you can. But not later then two months before the start of the course. After that, we will not be able to refund.
How many hours a day is a class?
We start at 9am and work usually till 6pm. But since teacher’s and students’ rooms are in the same building as our classroom, people usually work until very late. This is a professional course, we work as we need and feel. No school rules.
Can I apply for a scholarship?
If you are from a generally low income region, you are a student and consider animation to be your means of living, let us know and we will consider a scholarship to help you out. Generally, we support selected students with traveling and accommodation expenses.
How many participants is there for a course?
We have a classroom with 15 computers. We may potentially accept extra students with their own laptops, but 17 students is the most comfortable maximum.
Will a teacher be available for us the whole day?
Teachers are usually available the whole day, they also have tendency to stay with students much further and also spend free time with them doing all kinds of stuff. Most frequently drinking beer and hanging out. But as long as a teacher is able and willing, they are available. It’s up to them and the students.
Great courses, do you also plan to post some video from the course online?
No. We don’t have the infrastructure and motivation to do that. That’s a whole a lot different concept by all means. ANOMALIA focuses on in person intensive training and sharing the whole summer together. There are other online schools, which provide services of this kind. We are filling up a different gap on the market in our region, therefore, on site training give you the opportunity to communicate in real time and also develop future network of friends and co-workers. Besides, we run ANOMALIA as summer event, lot’s of fun.
Why are you in such a small town? Why not Prague?
Well, this is actualiy the best thing we have done that we moved the courses away from a big city, but at the same time we spend our entire summer in one of the most beautiful town in the Czech Republic. The concept is very simple. If we were in Prague, most students would have to live in different hostels and they would also have to leave a regular school classroom early in the evening. This would not create a really cool atmosphere and friendship among the people, they would also NOT have time to relax very close to the classroom and so even such opportunity to work until very late would not be much beneficial to learning. Besides, the classroom in Litomysl and the town itself feels so amazing, that it really creates the best learning environment we could have hope for.
Are your courses for students from outside of EU?
Well, yes … but … the priority have students from EU, mainly from Central and Eastern Europe, because our courses exist to support local talent and long term growth in our region. We are also mainly funded by MEDIA, a EU fund, so the only way to accept a student from the outside of EU is to have him / her pay extra money to compensate for the EU funding. Also, we are open to accept other citizens if we are not able to fill out the seats of a course.
I was looking last week on the website and all the prices were lower.
